Environmental Health & Safety Management System (EHS-MS)
Emory University recognizes the importance of environmental stewardship and commitment to occupational health and safety. In doing so, an integrated environmental, health and safety management system has been implemented to meet this goal. A management system is a proven framework for managing and continually improving an organization’s policies, procedures and processes. Emory University’s EHS-MS is built around the ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and CWA 15793 standards and the “Plan-Do-Check-Act” model. A fundamental part of an integrated management system is the comprehensive and systematic control of all documents including policies, procedures, training, records, reports, permits and all other relevant information. Implementing an EHS-MS can result in business, environmental and occupational benefits.
