Radiation Safety Committee III (RSC III)
Radiation Safety Committee III reviews applications and amendments for the research use of machineproduced radiation on humans with respect to procedure, exposure to the subject, and risk information provided to the subject. The duties and responsibilities of the Radiation Safety Committee III include:
- Review on the basis of safety and approve or disapprove each proposed method of machine-produced radiation on humans;
- Recommend or approve policy for the safe use of x-rays in human research;
- Consider problems brought before it by the Radiation Safety Officer or other interested parties and give a prompt ruling in each case.
