Respiratory Protection
A respirator is designed to shield users from breathing in harmful substances like chemicals and infectious particles. Emory's Respiratory Protection Program aims to protect its employees, students, and visitors from respiratory risks. This program involves evaluating workspaces, choosing appropriate respirators, conducting medical exams, and ensuring proper respirator fit. Additionally, if an employee chooses to use a respirator even when Emory does not mandate it, they must inform EHSO (Environmental Health and Safety Office) before using it.
